Valérie Trangez discovered her passion when she played in the JeMOO (Youth and Music Orchestra East Flanders) when she was 16 years old. Projects with, among others, Philippe Herreweghe, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, JON and GUSO followed.

She went to the Luca School of Arts, Lemmens Institute, to take lessons with Dirk Noyen. After 3 years she continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, with teachers Pieter Nuytten and Graziano Moretto.

During her studies, Valérie participated in orchestra academies of the Philharmonie (now Antwerp Symphony Orchestra) and PRISMA (Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy in Powell River, BC, Canada). With Frascati Symphonic she went twice to China for a winter tour.

She has already attended several masterclasses with Mathieu Harel, Marc Goldberg, Saxton Rose, Valentino Zucchiati, Bram van Sambeek, Joost Bosdijk, Francis Pollet, Alain Cremers, Andrea Zucco, Albrecht Mayer, Gordon Fantini,…

Valérie is currently active in the Belgian National Orchestra, the orchestra of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Orchester National de Lille, Spectra Ensemble, Casco Phil, Lumen Symphonicum, Frascati Symphonic, La Chapelle Sauvage and La Passione.

From 2011 to 2019, Valérie was a member of the woodwind quintet Vox Venti, with which she gave concerts as well as children's performances in various Flemish primary schools. Since 2019 she has been active in the chamber music ensemble Woodwork Reed Quintet

Meanwhile, Valérie has been working as a bassoon teacher at the music academy in Deinze (KADE Podiumkunsten) for 6 years now.

The magical tension that arises between the musicians and the audience always gives her goosebumps.
